Dr Chue Kah Loong, an Adjunct Lecturer at National Institute of Education, has recently graduated from the Doctor in Education (EdD) programme. Let him share with you what the programme is all about.
The EdD programme is targeted at professionals in education and education-related fields, who would like to extend their expertise and training and develop skills in research, evaluation and reflection on practice. It is of value to and builds on the knowledge and experience of, academic staff in universities and colleges, school teachers, curriculum leaders, and professionals working in international organisations. It is also suitable for senior administrators in schools, universities and educational and government bodies. It has the rigour and expectations of a PhD, but with a professional focus.
