Seamless learning is a learning notion that emphasises the bridging of different learning efforts across a variety of learning settings (such as formal and informal learning, individual and social learning, and learning in physical and digital realms), ideally by leveraging mobile technology in 1:1 (one-device-or-more-per-student) to assist individual students in carrying out cross-space learning on a 24x7 basis. Building on the outcomes of the existing NIE seamless learning research team in the past 6 years, this research area is intended to further investigate and theorise the nature of seamless learning as well as derive design principles for nurturing the disposition (or a culture) of lifelong seamless learning among the young students beyond school-based episodic seamless learning interventions.
