Through the Office of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning (GPL), the National Institute of Education, Singapore, offers high quality and rigorous higher degree programmes that will challenge your thinking, develop your skills and boost your career prospects. With a long tradition of innovation in teacher education, our masters and doctoral programmes have contributed to the academic and professional development of thousands of educators in Singapore. We are also seeing an increasing number of other professionals and international students joining our alumni each year. Currently, there are about 2,000 graduate students pursuing a higher degree through coursework or research at NIE.

The Higher Degrees section of GPL manages all higher degree programmes by coursework as well as research that are delivered by the various Academic Groups. The three categories of higher degree programmes offered at NIE are:

● Higher degree by coursework (M.A., M. Sc, M. Ed and Master of Teaching)
● Higher degree by research (Ph.D., M.A. and M.Sc.)
● Doctor in Education (Ed.D.)
